Rose Valley Lake

Description:

Rose Valley is a 3km adventure off a street in West Kelowna. The trail is very well maintained and perfect for a morning jog! The hike takes you to Rose Valley lake, which is an active reservoir.

The lake is perfect for swimming in the summer, or skating in the winter. The lake will remain frozen into April; we recommend not portaging two kayaks to the lake, unless you want to sit on a frozen lake.

The lake is surrounded on both sides by sharp cliff faces, as well as being overlooked by the McDougal Rim lookout.

This is a good trail to bring a friend, 4-legged or otherwise, for a walk.

Directions:

This hike is approximately 12 minutes drive from downtown Kelowna.

  1. Coming from Kelowna drive over the bridge towards West Kelowna.
  2. Take a right at Westlake Rd.
  3. Go straight through the roundabout to stay on Westlake Rd.
  4. Follow this road for 1.4km then turn left onto Rosewood Dr.
  5. Follow Rosewood Dr for 1km then park your vehicle at the end of the cul-de-sac.
  6. The trailhead begins at the yellow gate.
