Layer cake Canyon
description:
Layer Cake Canyon is an easy short hike right outside of Kelowna. The path is well maintained and sites are well marked with tourist information. If you're looking for a morning hike to start your day, Layer Cake Canyon is perfect for you.
The walk into the Canyon is gradual. We did this hike in March, as such our path was covered in snow and ice. By April this should not be an issue. The canyon is full of creeks and lush forest. At the centre of the path is massive boulder with a zipline running across. We suspect this is a popular area, expect to run into some people in this area. We had a fun couple hours with the zipline, just be careful to test it before attempting.
The path will have you follow the creek to the other side of the canyon. The path is thin and mountain connected so watch your step! The trail ends at the top of the canyon which takes you to the community beside Gallagher's Golf Course. It is possible to have someone pick you up at the other side of the Canyon if you don't want to walk back through.
This trail is designed for all level of hikers and is a great jogging trail.
