carrot mountain
Description:
The Carrot Mountain Bluffs is an awesome local hike for the early season. Starting in a residential area, it is accessible by any vehicle. Depending on the time of year, the beginning of the path can turn into a small river; you'll need to execute some clever navigation to cross this river. This melt creates a waterfall crossing, but that just makes it all the more fun.
We like to think of Carrot Mountain as the Grouse Grind of Kelowna. It's short, steep, and a great way to remind you what some serious calf burn feels like after taking the winter off from hiking.
There's a great view of Shanon Lake, Mount Boucherie, as well as the Okanagan Valley from the summit. It makes for a great hike to pack a lunch and enjoy the view as a reward for all the hard work. Also on the summit is a Canadian flag; this makes for some fantastic photo opportunities. Be sure to tag @officialbearlives when posting your Instagram shots!
