Bx Falls

Description:

Part way up Silver Star road lies one of the best hidden gems in the Okanagan. BX creek is named after the famous Bernard Express, for which many local buildings in the area around Vernon are also named. It is a little less than an hour and a half hike through a beautiful temperate-rainforest-esk creek valley which makes it a spectacular hike during a hot summer day.

Starting at the top of the hike just off Tillicum road it’s a short walk along the creekside to access the beautiful BX falls, where you will find a small pond at the base which is perfect for cooling off during the hot summer days. Heading farther down the path there is a small boardwalk section that is very accessible to all ages, if you can walk in any capacity this portion of the hike is available to you. The rest of the hike moving up the creek valley is almost completely covered with a canopy of trees witch keeps it at a cool temperature year around.

Note* Although this hike is open year round, the path down to the falls themselves becomes very slippery and iced over during the winter months, appropriate footwear is required.
